Walking posture
How to use
Look at your usual gait
Put down your phone or ask someone to film a back and forth for a few meters, in profile then from the front. Walk as you would during a regular journey. Watch the video at normal speed: does your gaze fall to the ground, does your head move in front of your chest, do your shoulders or arms appear frozen? Choose the most visible point.
Raise your gaze and place your head
Look in the direction you are going, continuing to monitor the terrain. Imagine that the top of your head rises: the neck straightens and the head returns above the bust. Keep your chin horizontal and your shoulders at rest. You should be able to continue walking and talking without holding a pose.
Let the arms accompany the steps
Keep your hands free for part of the ride and let your arms swing close to your body. The right arm accompanies the left leg, then the reverse. If you often walk with the phone in front of you or both hands in your pockets, putting them away allows you to regain this movement without having to manufacture it.
Keep a comfortable step length, adapted to your pace. If you're consistently looking for long strides, go back to steps that flow together easily. The feet each follow their own trajectory: avoid crossing them like on a parade line. Also choose shoes that hold your feet well and let you walk freely.
Integrate a single landmark into your journeys
Associate your correction with a regular time, such as leaving the house or joining transport. Think about the marker at the start of the journey, then let the walk continue. Make a video again after a few days, under the same conditions, to compare. If the change is achieved, you can focus your attention on another detail.
