Collagen
Summary
Oral collagen is a secondary option, not an essential basis for improving skin. Some tests on hydrolyzed peptides observe an improvement in hydration or elasticity after several weeks, but the results are weakened by the quality of the studies and their financing. Prioritize sun protection, appropriate care and sufficient nutrition before devoting a budget to this supplement.
If you want to try it, choose hydrolyzed collagen peptides and follow the product instructions. Skin testing often uses 2.5 to 10 g per day for about eight to twelve weeks; their results do not automatically apply to all powders. Collagen does not replace whey or dietary protein for muscles, and undenatured type II for joints is a different product.
