Water
Summary
Make water your main drink and spread out your intake throughout the day, especially at meals. As a starting point, the EFSA recommends around 1.5 to 2 liters of drinks per day for adults, to be adjusted according to heat, activity and other intakes. The 2 liter benchmarks for women and 2.5 liters for men are for total water, including food: these are not bottles to finish on top of what you eat.
Keep a glass or bottle within reach and associate the gesture with usual times, like lunch or arriving at the office. Thirst and generally light yellow urine can guide you, without trying to obtain transparent urine all day. Drinking enough helps; drinking more and more does not promise a finer face or perfect skin. If medically restricted in fluids, follow the prescribed amount.
