Body hair
How to use
Choose the trimmer and prepare the skin
Take a trimmer designed for the body, with several cutting heights and a protective comb for sensitive areas. Check the authorized areas in its instructions: a usable head on the torso is not necessarily suitable for the genitals. Work in good lighting, on clean, non-irritated skin; for clipping with a comb, dry hair often allows you to better see the remaining length.
Adjust lengths and connect zones
On the torso and stomach, you can start around 9-12mm if your device allows it, then try 6mm to reduce the volume further. Do a small area first, step back from the mirror and look at the result before shortening the whole thing. For the arms and legs, keep a length close to natural if you want a discreet touch-up.
Pass slowly, without pressing, following the instructions on the device on the direction of mowing. Laying hairs may require passing in another direction, but avoid insisting on reddened skin. Between the torso and stomach, or pubis and thighs, use an intermediate shoe on a transition strip. Finish by raising the mower so as not to draw a clear line.
On the shoulders, back, hands or feet, a few isolated hairs can be shortened further if you find them bothersome. Don't try to erase all the surrounding fluff. For the back, use a tool designed to reach it and a mirror, or call a professional if you want to remove hair. At the nape of your neck, follow the contour of your haircut without moving it up with each touch-up.
Maintaining the armpits and pubis
For the armpits, start with a comb of a few millimeters, for example 6 mm, and keep your arm raised to release the folds. On the flat part of the pubis, a 6 to 9 mm shoe can be used as a first test if the instructions allow it. You can adjust after observing the results and comfort with regrowth.
For the genital area, work standing up, clearly seeing the area, with your own equipment. The skin of the scrotum and folds can get caught in a cutting head: do not run a regular clipper over it. Only maintain these areas with a device explicitly intended for them, its recommended protection and the skin smoothed. Avoid the mucous membranes and the intergluteal fold if you cannot work with good visibility.
Choose another method if necessary
If you want smooth shoulders or back for longer, waxing removes hair and usually leaves several weeks before it returns, at the cost of sometimes painful hair removal. An institute facilitates the treatment of hard-to-reach areas. For lasting reduction, the laser requires several sessions and a higher budget; the choice depends on the color of the hair, skin and area.
A hair removal cream may be suitable for certain parts of the body, but only in the areas indicated on its packaging. Test it on a small area according to the instructions and strictly respect the application time. Do not transfer leg cream to your genitals. If the product burns or stings, rinse immediately and thoroughly, without waiting for the designated time to expire.
Maintain the result
After clipping, remove the cut hairs, rinse if necessary and dry without rubbing. If the skin feels tight, apply a simple moisturizer to the outer skin. Then clean the heads and combs according to their instructions, then let them dry before storing the device. Space out touch-ups if the skin remains irritated instead of ironing to achieve a shorter cut.
The frequency depends on the desired result: a cut that maintains several millimeters requires fewer touch-ups than a smooth shave. Watch the regrowth after one or two weeks to find your rhythm, without the obligation to redo the entire body each time. Note the hooves used on the different areas: you will more easily find a regular result at the next session.
