Brush and spot corrections

Work on clean, dry brows, without gel, in front of a well-lit mirror. Relax the forehead and brush the head slightly upwards, then the body and tail towards the temple. Let the hairs settle back into place before deciding which ones to cut. A hair moved by the brush may seem too long even though it normally contributes to the shape.

Prepare a bottle brush, clean tweezers and small suitable scissors. Keep your hand steady and the tips away from the eye. Pay particular attention to the area between the eyebrows, the loose hairs under the tail and the lengths which clearly go out of line. If you want to change the entire shape, start with the Eyebrows sheet rather than improvising with scissors.

Shorten hairs that are too long

Isolate a protruding hair and cut a small portion from its end. Brush again, let it fall and check before continuing. Avoid holding all the hairs up with the brush to cut horizontally across: once laid down, they may no longer cover certain areas. The useful length depends on their location; there is not a certain number of millimeters to apply to the entire eyebrow.

Keep the hairs that contribute to thickness, even if they appear long when lifted. Mowing very short over the entire surface can create holes and give a rough texture. To start, scissors used hair by hair allow you to better control what you remove, particularly near the head and tail.

Epilate only isolated hairs

With the tweezers, grab the hair close to the skin and pull in the direction it grows. Start with the ones that clearly connect the two eyebrows, then examine the loose hairs around the line. After a few withdrawals, step back from the mirror. Do not gradually widen the central space or dig under the eyebrow to obtain an identical curve on both sides.

If the skin turns red, leave the area alone instead of trying to finish it at all costs. For a few touch-ups, the tweezers are easier to dose than a strip of wax. Facial wax can tear off the skin, especially with certain treatments such as retinoids: report your treatments before a salon session and avoid improvising on irritated skin.

Styling and fixing the shape

Replace the hairs with the bottle brush. If that's enough, you can stop there. Otherwise, take a little transparent gel, remove the excess from the brush and follow the direction of the hairs: slightly upwards at the head, then outwards. Avoid placing them all vertically if you are looking for a natural and discreet line.

The clear gel recommended here is used to hold the hairs in place. Start with a small amount to avoid clumps, then let dry without constant ironing. Clean the used bottle brush dry and remove the product when washing in the evening. Repeat styling as needed and trimming only when lengths exceed again.
