Facial cleansing

Summary

Effectiveness

2/3

Useful for removing sebum, sunscreen and residue without irritating the skin.

Accessibility

3/3

A mild cleanser, lukewarm water and your fingers are enough. The procedure takes little time and does not require any expensive equipment or products.

Cleansing the face helps remove excess sebum, perspiration, dust and products left on the skin, including sun protection. Use a mild cleanser, lukewarm water and your fingertips, then rinse and pat dry. Think about the sides of the nose, the hairline, the neck and the skin under the beard. Clean skin should remain comfortable, without feeling stripped.

Morning and evening is a common benchmark, to be adapted to your skin; also clean after heavy sweating. If your skin is very dry or sensitive, lighten your morning cleansing rather than continuing a routine that irritates it. In the evening, one product is often enough. A cleansing oil or balm can help remove stubborn products, but double cleansing is not a daily requirement.
