Vitamin C for skin
Summary
Applied to the skin, vitamin C can help make the complexion more even and reduce certain spots as well as fine signs of aging. It acts in particular as an antioxidant and is involved in the formation of collagen. Its benefit is judged over several weeks to several months: a well-tolerated serum, used regularly, is more useful than a very concentrated formula that is abandoned after a few applications.
Choose a treatment intended for the face and introduce it after cleansing. In the morning, follow up with a moisturizer if necessary and a suitable sun protection: vitamin C complements the latter, but does not filter UV rays in its place. The formula matters as much as the percentage displayed. Pure vitamin C and its derivatives do not have the same stability constraints nor the same effectiveness data; the best choice is the one that suits your skin and your routine.
