Height
How it works
1. Posture: mobility and support
The position of the head, thorax and pelvis determines the alignment of the silhouette. To modify it sustainably, you must be able to reach the desired position and maintain it: mobility comes into play in the first case, reinforcement and habits in the second. This is what allows you to choose useful work rather than a series of generic stretches.
2. Risers: design matters
A platform raises the entire foot, while a heel lift mainly raises the rear and modifies its inclination. At a comparable advertised height, the support and rendering may therefore differ. An interior extension also occupies part of the volume intended for the foot; the depth of the shoe becomes as important as the thickness chosen.
3. Proportions: where the leg line begins
The belt and the bottom of the top create a visual separation between the bust and the legs. A long top moves this separation downward; a tucked in top and a higher pant waist lift it up. The volumes and contrasts complete this effect. These benchmarks are used to compare outfits, with a result that depends on your body type.
4. Surgery: the formation of bone between two segments
Lengthening is based on bone distraction: after cutting the bone, a device gradually moves the two segments apart. Bone forms in the space created, then must consolidate. The muscles, joints and other tissues must accompany the lengthening, hence the monitoring and rehabilitation. Difficulties with consolidation or mobility can complicate this journey.
