Masseter muscles
Summary
The masseters are muscles on either side of the jaw that help close the mouth and chew. Their volume contributes to the contours of the lower face. Thicker muscles can give more width, but this change is not necessarily advantageous on all body shapes, especially when the face is already wide.
To seek volume, the approach presented here is resistance closing training with dedicated gums. Feedback reports a development of the masseters, but aesthetic studies remain limited. Ordinary chewing gum provides a different load: a six-month trial improved bite force without significantly increasing muscle thickness. This result alone does not allow us to judge the resistance of the rubbers.
