Oral hygiene
Summary
Unpleasant breath often comes from what builds up in the mouth: coating on the tongue, debris between the teeth or plaque around the gums. In addition to brushing with fluoride toothpaste and interdental cleaning, a gentle wipe on the tongue can help remove some of these deposits. The goal is a comfortable, maintained mouth, not a perfectly pink tongue or permanent disinfection.
Clean the tongue once a day, without pain or bleeding. A mouthwash can complete the routine if it meets a specific need, but it is not essential and does not replace mechanical procedures. Do not try to dig or pressure rinse the tonsils to remove tonsils. If your breath remains bad despite a few weeks of regular care, a dentist can find the cause.
