Eyelash grooming

How to use

Prepare lashes and materials

Sit in front of a fixed mirror, in good light, and wash your hands. Eyelashes must be clean, dry and free of hardened mascara. Bring a clean, flexible bottle brush reserved for this use. For the eyelash curler, check that the pad is secure and that no damaged metal edges are likely to touch the eyelashes.

Separate eyelashes with a brush

Keep your gaze lowered and make a light pass over the upper eyelashes, from their visible base to the tip, without touching the eye. Accompany their natural fan: the outer lashes can go towards the temple, but do not bring the entire row to the side. If an eyelash sticks, remove the brush without pulling and do not force it to straighten it.

Curl only if necessary

Open the eyelash curler and place the upper eyelashes between its two parts, close to their base but without touching the skin of the eyelid. Close the tool until it contacts to check placement, then apply light pressure according to the instructions. If the skin is pinched or you feel a pull, immediately open and reposition the tool.

For a less angular curve, you can apply lighter pressure towards the middle of the lashes, if the shape of the tool allows it. Open it completely before each move and before removing it. Do not use the eyelash curler on the lower lashes or heat it with a hair dryer. One or two gentle passages are enough; insisting especially increases the risk of breakage.

Check rendering and clean up

Step back from the mirror to judge the result with your eyes open normally. A slight difference between the two sides does not require you to start again. Wipe the eyelash curler after use, clean the brush and let it dry. Replace the pad according to the instructions as soon as it cracks or deforms, and do not share tools that touch your eyes.

If you use mascara, apply it after curling your eyelashes and remove it in the evening with a suitable makeup remover, without rubbing for long periods of time. Eyelashes stuck by a dry layer are more difficult to release from a tool. If you experience pain, persistent redness or an eyelash rubbing against the eye, stop handling and seek medical advice.
