Chromogenic foods

Summary

Effectiveness

2/3

Useful for limiting surface stains. Does not change the natural color of the teeth and does not remove all the deposits already installed.

Accessibility

3/3

Some free habits, easy to integrate into meals and coffee breaks.

Chromogenic foods are those which promote the coloring of teeth through their pigments. Coffee, tea and red wine are classic examples; Certain dark fruits and drinks like cola can also contribute to stains. The problem depends in particular on the frequency of consumption and oral hygiene, not just the color on your plate.

To preserve your smile, start by reducing repeated exposure and keep brushing regularly. A naturally ivory tooth is not necessarily stained: changing your diet will not magically make it white. If deposits persist, a cleaning at the dentist may be more helpful than an accumulation of restrictions. For wine, stop drinking remains the general recommendation.
